The Burlingame Library Foundation raises more than half of its operating revenue directly from the sale of used books & media of all types. These funds, along with the proceeds of other BLF events and direct donations, allow the library to continue its full spectrum of community programs and contribute substantially to the collection budget, as well as, community access to technology.
A small portion of our inventory consists of ex-library books removed from the collection. However, the majority of the books & media are donated by the general public. If it’s time for you to winnow your home library, please consider dropping off your gently used books at the information desk of the main library. Pick-ups for large donations can be arranged by calling 650-558-7404 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org All donations are tax-deductable
Books are available for sale every day that the main library is open. The book sale area is located on the main level by the cafe, to the left of the circulation desk. In addition, the Foundation holds regular sales events throughout the year.
The Burlingame Library Foundation is also actively selling some of our best donated books online, on several different sites (note: links below). When you buy through the Foundation storefront, all proceeds go directly to the Foundation to benefit the Burlingame Public Library.
