The Burlingame Library Foundation raises more than half of its operating revenue directly from the sale of used books and media. These funds, along with the proceeds of other BLF events and direct donations, allow the library to continue its full scope of community programs and contribute substantially to the collection budget, as well as, community access to technology.
A small portion of our inventory consists of ex-library books weeded from the collection. However, the majority of the books and media are donated by the general public. If you are winnowing your home library, please consider dropping off your gently used books at the information desk of the main library. Pick-ups for large donations can be arranged by calling 650-558-7404 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org All donations are tax-deductible.
Books are on sale in the Foundation book shop when the main library is open. The book sale area is on the main level by the cafe, to the left of the circulation desk. The Burlingame Library Foundation has BIG book sales twice a year as well as pop-up events.
The Burlingame Library Foundation actively sells some of its best donated books online. When you buy through the Burlingame Library Foundation storefront, all proceeds benefit the Burlingame Public Library.
